Biographical Information[edit]
Shonosuke Kasuga was drafted by the Taiheiyo Baseball Union in the 5th round of the 1974 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first four seasons. He went 3-for-23 in 1979, and the team (now known as the [[[Seibu Lions]] released him in 1980. Kasuga was picked up by the Lotte Orions but only played 3 games in 1981, and he went 1-for-10 in 1982. He then hit .254/.333/.339 in 70 plate appearances over 40 games in 1983, and he announced his retirement. His brother Ippei Kasuga also played in NPB.
