Biographical Information[edit]
Shonan Hashino signed with the Nishitetsu Lions in 1961 as a pitcher, and he had a 4.30 ERA in 12 games in 1962. He was then turned into an outfielder in 1963, and he only got 10 at-bats combined in the next four seasons. Hashino played 87 games with a .295/.341/.358 batting line in 1967, and he hit .245/.309/.313 in 1968. However, he was 1-for-20 in 1969, and he went 21-for-63 in 1970. Hashino struggled again in 1971 as he was 6-for-43, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Hashino hit .254/.300/.300 with 121 hits and 3 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
