Biographical Information[edit]
Shoji Terakawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Terakawa signed with the Tokyu Flyers in 1950, and he had a 7.13 ERA in 6 appearances in his first season. He went 5-8 with a 3.57 ERA in 1951, and he had a 7-7 record with a 3.67 ERA in 42 appearances in 1952. Terakawa tied Toshihide Yamane for 5th in appearances in the Pacific League that season. He slumped to a 5.83 ERA in 21 games in 1953, and he bounced back with a 3-8 record and a 3.98 ERA in 1954. Terakawa was 4-4 with a 3.33 ERA in 1955, but he only pitched 13 games with a 1.91 ERA inn 1956 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Terakawa was 21-33 with a 3.87 ERA, struck out 178 and pitched 623 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
