Biographical Information[edit]
Shoji Ohiro represented Japan in the 2004 World University Baseball Championship. He was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 6th round the 2004 NPB draft, but he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He also hit .191/.296/.265 in 23 games for the Honolulu Sharks in 2007. Ohiro tied the NPB record as he committed three errors in a game as an outfielder on September 17, 2007, and he went 2-for-19 in that season. He was 0-for-8 in 2008, and he hit .172/.200/.207 in 18 games in 2011 after spending 2 years in the minors. Ohiro announced his retirement after that season.
