Biographical Information

Shogo Nakajima was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the development phase in the 2014 NPB draft, and he had a 1.38 ERA in 12 games in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2015. He went 1-5 with a 3.33 ERA in 49 games in 2016, and he pitched 3 games with a 6.00 ERA for the big club. Nakajima went 5-6 with a 4.41 ERA in 2017 in the minors, but he allowed 7 runs in 4 2/3 innings in the big club. He then signed with the De Glaskoning Twins in 2018, and he was 2-1 with a 1.99 ERA. He was 7th in the 2018 Hoofdklasse in ERA, between Kyle Ward and Rob Cordemans. Nakashima also had a 2.45 ERA in 12 appearances for the Sydney Blue Sox in the 2018-2019 Australian Baseball League, and he announced his retirement.
