Biographical Information[edit]
Shinnosuke Yamase has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Yamase was named after legend catcher of the Yomiuri Giants Shinnosuke Abe. He represented Japan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup (going 0 for 6 with a walk and two runs as a backup catcher), and the Giants selected him in the 5th round of the 2019 NPB draft; the scout was Junya Orita. He hit .163/.248/.245 in the NPB Farm leagues in 2020, and he struggled again in 2021 as his batting line was .167/.273/.211. Yamase improved to .256/.313/.355 in 2022, and he went 2-for-11 for the big club. He had a 1-for-7 record in 2023, and he was 2-for-6 in 2024.
