Biographical Information[edit]
Third Baseman Shinkichi Harada played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Harada signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1953, and he only got 4 at-bats in his first season. He played 70 games with a .241/.280/.330 batting line in 1954, and he recorded a .222/.268/.259 batting line in 1955. Harada slumped to .164/.182/.316 in 1956, and he struggled again in 1957 as his batting line was .172/.226/.248. He hit .218/.282/.346 in 1958, and went 4-for-22 in 1959. Harada only played 17 games for the top team in 1960, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Harada hit .196/.240/.289 with 137 hits and 8 homers in 8 seasons in NPB.
