Biographical Information

Shinji Kuroda was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the first round of the 1976 NPB draft, but he refused to sign. He then signed with the Yakult Swallows in 1982, and he went 0-5 with 2 saves and a 4.75 ERA in 32 appearances that season. He had a 7.94 ERA in 7 games in 1984, and he pitched 10 games with a 4.58 ERA in 1986. Kuroda spent the entire 1987 season in the minors, and he announced his retirement.
