Biographical Information[edit]
Submariner Shinichi Inoue signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1952, and he went 3-2 with a 2.62 ERA in his first season. He pitched a shutout inning in 1952 Nippon Series Game 1, but he gave up three walks and 2 hits in Game 2 without retiring any batters. The Yomiuri Giants beat the Hawks in 6 games. Inoue was 14-5 with a 2.92 ERA in 1953, but he suffered a shoulder injury and he never reached the top team again before he announced his retirement in 1955.
