Biographical Information

Shingo Takeshita was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the 2014 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for Tomohiro Anraku, and he went 3-1 with a 9.16 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2015. He improved to 2-5 with a 3.74 ERA in 2016, but he still faced serious command problems as he walked 48 in 53 innings. Takeshita also made his NPB debut on June 16 that season, and he pitched 2 2/3 innings with 4 runs allowed. He had a 10.88 ERA in 20 appearances in the minors in 2017, then he announced his retirement, having made only the one appearance in the Central League.
