Biographical Information[edit]
Shigeru Yabe signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1947, and he only got 7 at-bats combined in his first three seasons. He played 53 games with a .228/.302/.333 batting line in 1950, then he went 12-for-58 in 1951. Yabe had a 14-for-53 record in 1952, and he was 2-for-14 in 1953. He then went to the Takahashi Unions, and he announced his retirement after hitting .214/.283/.333 in 1954.
Overall, Yabe hit .219/.292/.316 with 63 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
