Biographical Information[edit]
Shigeru Araki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Araki signed with the Hankyu club in 1946, and he hit .202/.245/.264 in 70 games in his first season. He had a .216/.278/.263 batting line in 1947, and he played 98 games with a .189/.241/.225 batting line in 1948. Araki only got 10 at-bats in 1949, and he was released. The Taiyo Whales signed him, and he crushed 6 homers with a .224/.282/.354 batting line in 1950. He slumped to .202/.271/.288 in 1951 and he announced his retirement after he had a .218/.340/.276 batting line in 1952.
Overall, Araki hit .206/.268/.277 with 277 hits and 10 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
