Biographical Information

Shigeki Tsurusaki was drafted by the Nankai Hawks in the 5th round of the 1971 NPB draft, and he only played one game in his first three seasons. He shared the starting shortstop spot with Chiaki Sadaoka in 1975, and he hit .234/.323/.290 in 69 games. Tsurusaki lost his spot after Takayuki Kono shined in 1976, and he only got 4 at-bats for the top team. He was 5-for-25 in 1977, and he was released in 1979 after he went 0-for-4 in 1978. The Nippon Ham Fighters picked him up, but he didn't reach the top team again and he announced his retirement in 1981.
