Biographical Information[edit]
Shigeharu Kuwana played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Kuwana signed with the Tokyu Flyers in 1950, and he went 5-11 with a 5.37 ERA in his first season. He improved to 3-4 with a 3.68 ERA in 1952, and he went 6-9 with a 3.71 ERA in 1953. Kuwana then pitched 36 games with a 8-8 record and a 2.96 ERA in 1954, but his ERA rose to 5.27 in 24 appearances in 1955 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kuwana was 23-41 with a 4.08 ERA, struck out 163 and pitched 584 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
