Biographical Information[edit]
Shane Pepper pitched for the Australian national team.
He debuted with the Sydney Blues in the 1993-1994 Australian Baseball League, allowing four runs in three innings. In 1995-1996, he was 1-1 with a save and a 4.19 ERA. He fell to 1-3, 6.20 in 1996-1997. He still made Australia's team for the 1997 Intercontinental Cup and fared well with a 2.45 ERA and five strikeouts in 3 2/3 IP; his four appearances were one behind team leader Mark Ettles. Australia won the Bronze.
In 1997-1998, he went 5-0 with a save and a 5.59 ERA for the team, now the Sydney Storm, hampered by a hitter-friendly Parramatta Stadium. He tied for 4th in the league with 21 appearances (a team-high). He was 1-3 with a save and a 4.12 ERA in 1998-1999. He lost the title game to the Gold Coast Cougars. He walked two of three batters he faced in the 1999-2000 International Baseball League of Australia to end his career.
