Biographical Information

Seiji Suyama was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the first round of the first 1966 NPB draft as a catcher, but he didn't get a single at-bat with the big club before the Carp turned him into a pitcher in 1972. He pitched 4 shutout innings that season, then he announced his retirement.
