Biographical Information[edit]

Sawa Kashizaki has been on the Japanese women's national team.

Debuting in the 2025 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, she turned in a stellar performance. Starting against Sri Lanka in the opener, she struck out her first batter, Jananai Yoshana Balasuriya Balasuriya Lekamlage and fanned the next six as well. Wathsala Dilrukshi Senavirathna Senevirathna Gomara Mudiyanselage grounded out then she struck out Nuwani Hansika De Silwa Migala Handi Migala for Ks on 8 of 9 batters faced. Yu Kondoh closed out the mercy rule no-hitter. She saved Misaki Sato's win over Taiwan, allowing one unearned run in two innings. She then got the nod against Taiwan in the finale and blanked them for all seven innings (5 H, 1 BB, 6 K) to beat Hsiao-Chien Wang and give Japan the title; it was the lone complete game shutout of the tourney. She tied for the win lead (with Yin-Sum Kwong, Sato and Wang), was 5th in IP (between Gayani Geethika Bandara Hitihami Mudiyanselage and Ashaqila Leciashira Kanandrya), led with 15 strikeouts (two ahead of Sirapat Kasornsuwan) and led in ERA (Kwong was second at 0.72) for a pitching Triple Crown. Sato beat her out for All-Star SP honors, but she won the MVP. [1]
