Biographical Information

Satoru Morimoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Morimoto was drafted by the Daiei Hawks in the 6th round of the 2002 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He went 1-for-4 in 2005, and he was named the main backup infield utility man in 2006. Morimoto played 93 games with a .205/.306/.233 batting line in '06, and he recorded a .200/.243/.267 batting line in 2007. He hit .241/.271/.301 in 2008, and he filled the hole after Nobuhiro Matsuda missed most of the 2009 season. Morimoto hit .256/.322/.318 in 95 games as the starting third baseman, then he recorded a .229/.293/.276 batting line in 2010. However, he lost his spot after Kenji Akashi shined in 2011, so he only got 5 at-bats and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Morimoto hit .234/.294/.289 with 156 hits and a homer in 7 seasons in NPB.
