Biographical Information

Ryuya Taira has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Taira was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 5th round of the 2022 NPB draft, the scout was Yuichi Adachi. He hit .259/.349/.336 in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2023, then he slumped to .171/.273/.212 in 2024. He still played 18 games with the top team, but his batting line was .143/.217/.143. Taira bounced back and hit .354/.401/.478 in the minors in 2025, and he would led the minors in batting had he qualified; Naoki Arizono wound up leading the Eastern League at .306. He also would have led in OBP, .011 ahead of Arizono. Taira didn't reach the top team that season.
