Biographical Information[edit]
Ryusei Takeoka has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Takeoka represented Japan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, hitting .125/.267/.167 but with six RBI in eight games, fielding .895, mostly at 3B and SS. The Yakult Swallows selected him in the 6th round of the 2019 NPB draft; the scout was Takayuki Saito. He spent his first three seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he only got 30 at-bats combined for the big club. Takeoka played 84 games with a .219/.254/.281 batting line in 178 appearances in 2023 (backing up Tetsuto Yamada at 2B), and he hit .177/.234/.277 with 3 homers in 76 games in 2024.
