Biographical Information[edit]

Ryuichi Kajimae played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Kajimae was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 4th round of the 2007 NPB draft, and he debuted on June 1, 2008. He got his first career at-bat on June 6, and he crushed a walk-off homer against Yusuke Kawasaki. Kajimae was the first player in NPB history to hit a walk-off homer in his first at-bat. He ended up hitting .229/.270/.429 in 35 games in his first season, and he only got 19 at-bats combined for the big club in the next three seasons. He recorded a .242/.284/.274 batting line in 47 games in 2012, and he only had 3 more at-bats before he announced his retirement in 2014.
