Biographical Information

Ryota Nagai was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 6th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Yoshinori Ogata. He went 2-2 with a 9.86 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2017, and he improved to a 3.06 ERA in 27 relief outings in 2018. Nagai also pitched 4 games for the big club, but his ERA was 13.50. He then recorded a 3.86 ERA in 13 games in the minors in 2019, but he didn't reach the big club and he announced his retirement.
