Biographical Information[edit]
Ryota Fujii played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Fujii won three Best Nine awards and a MVP in his college career. He was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 6th round of the 2013 NPB draft, and he went 0-for-6 in his first season. Fujii then had a 6-for-34 record in 2015, and he was 4-for-20 in 2016. When Shingo Kawabata was injured in 2017, Fujii was named Yakult's starting third baseman and he played 97 games with a .257/.281/.288 batting line. He hit .275/.351/.314 in 2018, but he only played 16 more games before he announced his retirement in 2020.
Overall, Fujii hit .242/.279/.272 with 105 hits and 2 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
