Biographical Information[edit]
Ryoma Ikeda has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ikeda represented Japan in the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup, hitting .318/.464/.455 with 8 runs in 8 games, tying for 3rd with 4 steals. He was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 5th round of the 2021 NPB draft; the scout was Etsuji Taniguchi. He was 3-for-20 in 2022, and he went 7-for-23 in 2023. Ikeda shined in the minors as he hit .301/.362/.418 in 90 games, and he won the batting title of the Western League. While he was 14 plate appearances shy of qualifying, the leading qualifier was Kosuke Ukai at .287. Adding an 0-for-14 for Ikeda would've put him ahead of Ukai, granting him the title. He had a 4-for-23 record in 2024, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues for the entire 2025 season.
