Biographical Information[edit]
Ryohei Fujiwara was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 3rd round of the 2007 NPB draft, and he only got 8 appearances combined with the big club in his first 6 seasons. He was 11-7 with a 3.90 ERA in the minors in 2013, and he led the Eastern League in wins and strikeouts. Thus, he got some chances for the top team in 2014, and he was 2-6 with a 4.83 ERA. Fujiwara had a 7.15 ERA in 7 games in 2015, and he pitched 10 games with a 2.06 ERA in 2016. He also had a 1.46 ERA in 7 games for the Melbourne Aces in the 2015-2016 ABL. Fujiwara only got 8 appearances in 2017, and he announced his retirement in 2018.
Overall, Fujiwara went 1-4 with a 4.18 ERA, struck out 37 and pitched 70 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
