Biographical Information[edit]
Ryan Engels played college ball with the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs from 2012-2015 where he earned a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He later earned a master's in the same field from South Dakota State University.
The Seattle Mariners hired Engels in 2018 as a strength & conditioning coach with the AZL Mariners. Engels moved to the Houston Astros system the following year as a performance coach for the Corpus Christi Hooks. He was scheduled to be the Round Rock Express development coach in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Engels left professional baseball after 2020 according to his LinkedIn profile. He spent two years as a Director of Baseball Operations for the Harrisburg Baseball Association. In 2023, he left baseball and moved into private business.[1]
