Robert Ruck
Biographical Information[edit]
Rob Ruck has been a history professor at the University of Pittsburgh. He is the author of Sandlot Seasons and The Tropic of Baseball. His research topics include local amateur baseball history in Pittsburgh and the history of baseball in Latin America. He had contributed to a documentary film about Roberto Clemente and to the exhibition "Souls of the Game: Voices of Black Baseball" at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
He received the Henry Chadwick Award from SABR in 2026, in recognition of his contribution to research on baseball history.
