Biographical Information

Riku Masuda was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the second round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Shintaro Yoshitake. He missed his first season due to left hand injury, then he hit .162/.235/.221 in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2020. Masuda had a .236/.293/.346 batting line there in 2021, and he played 69 games with a .250/.318/.400 batting line with 5 homers for the big club in 2022. However, Masuda missed the 2023 season due to left elbow injury, and he was 0-for-5 with the top team in 2024.
