Brigham Young University-Idaho was a junior college known as Ricks College from 1923-2000. The name change became official in August 2001, and the school became accredited at the baccalaureate level by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities in 2004. The school discontinued athletics after the 2001-2002 school year.
