Outfielder Rick Soan hit .591 in 1976 for the Crawley Giants, leading Britain's Southern Baseball League in average. He played for the British national team in the 1988 B-Level European Championship then batted .370 with 7 runs and 7 RBI in 8 games for them in the 1989 European Championship. He led their team in hits (10), steals (4), RBI (tied with Oscar Marcelino, Julian Dodwell and Steve Nero) and extra-base hits (3, tied with Nero) while he was one run behind their leader Dan Godfrey.
