Biographical Information[edit]

Ren Kazahari was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 2nd round of the 2014 NPB draft; the scout was Yukio Yaegashi. He only pitched one game for the big club in 2015, and he had a 8.10 ERA in 6 appearances in 2016. Kazahari then allowed 3 runs in 4 innings in 2017, and he broke out in 2018. He had a career-high 53 appearances, and he recorded a 4.37 ERA with 4 holds. However, his ERA rose to 7.11 in 14 games in 2019, and he struggled again as he had a 7.98 ERA in 11 relief outings in 2020. The Swallows then released him, and he signed with the Yokohama BayStars. Kazahari surrendered 6 runs in 7 innings in 2021, and he was released. He joined the independent Kentucky Wild Health Genomes in 2022, but he pitched 4 games with a 9.64 ERA and he announced his retirement.
