Biographical Information[edit]
Ren Kakigi beat Kosei Yoshida's Kanaashi Agricultural High School in the 2018 Summer Koshien, and he represented Japan in the 2018 BFA U-18 Baseball Championship. The Nippon Ham Fighters selected him in the 5th round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Takaya Hayashi. Yoshida was also drafted by the Fighters in the first round. However, Kakigi only pitched 4 games with a 2.08 ERA in 2022 for the big club, and he announced his retirement in 2024.
