Biographical Information[edit]
Reiji Kozawa has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Kozawa was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 2nd round of the 2015 NPB draft, and he spent his first five season in the NPB Farm Leagues. He only pitched 2 games combined for the big club, and the Hawks released him in 2020. The Yakult Swallows picked him up, and he was 2-1 with a 4.11 ERA in 2022. Kozawa also pitched 2/3 of an inning in the 2022 Nippon Series Game 3, and he gave up a RBI single to Masahiro Nishino. The Swallows lost to the Orix Buffaloes in 7 games. Kozawa went 6-4 with 2 saves and a 3.02 ERA in 2023 as a swingman, and he notched 11 saves with a 6-6 record and a 2.55 ERA in 2024. He was 7th in saves in the Central League, between Javy Guerra and Alberto Baldonado.
