Biographical Information[edit]

Ramphis Trinidad was on the Netherlands Antilles national team in the 1995 Pan American Games. [1] In the 2000 Hoofdklasse, he stole 11 bases for Sparta/Feyenoord, tying Ronald Jaarsma for 8th. [2] In 2002, he was with PSV and ranked 8th in hits (52, between Jaarsma and Dè Flanegin) and first with 25 steals (five ahead of Berti Richardson). [3] With PSV again in 2003, he tied for 8th in runs (28) and second with 20 swipes (four shy of Jermaine Esprit). [4]

He hit .277 for Sparta/Feyenoord in 2005, finishing 6th with 27 runs, tying for 6th with 44 hits and tying Gino Henson and Benjamin Dille for 9th in steals (8). [5] Statistics for 2006 are unclear (as well as 2001 and any seasons prior to 2000). In 2007, the veteran batted .303/.342/.372 and fielded .944 at short. His three triples tied for second, two behind Shurendell Borgschot, and he was 7th with 9 steals. He finished up in 2008, hitting .210/.281/.217; the 35-year-old could still move, going 9-for-11 in steal attempts. He tied Mike Duursma and Mervin Gario for 7th in stolen bases.
