Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Pablo Cabrera played college ball at Florida Southern College and graduated in 2019 with a degree in Business Administration. Cabrera collected over 200 hits in his career and ranks 8th in Mocassins' history in games played.
Cabrera started 2020 as the hitting coach for West Orange High School before COVID-19 shut down the season. From there Cabrera moved to the University of Charleston where he earned a masters in Strategic Leadership in 2022. While at Charleston, Cabrera also worked as a graduate assistant coach with the baseball team. He served as the defensive coordinator in 2021 and offensive coordinator in 2022 for the Golden Eagles. After the 2021 season, Cabrera was the hitting coach for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in the summer Alaska Baseball League.
The Boston Red Sox hired Cabrera in 2023 as a coach for the Portland Sea Dogs. Cabrera served as a defensive coach for the FCL Red Sox in 2024 and 2025. In 2026, following the shake-up of the major league team's coaching staff that accompanied manager Alec Cora's firing on April 25th, he was promoted to the Sox as interim first base coach.
