Ove Johansson

Biographical Information[edit]
Ove Johansson was a Swedish star of the 1990s. He played for the Swedish national team in the 1993 European Championship, going 1 for 5 with a run and a RBI while backing up Craig McDonald at second base for the Bronze Medalists. [1] In the 1994 Baseball World Cup, he split third with Kent Sterner and left with Magnus Jonsson. He hit .300/.440/.400; only McDonald had more hits or a better average, slugging or OBP for Sweden (for rate stats, only counting qualifiers). [2] During the 1995 European Championship, he was at .313/.500/.313 and handled 30 chances error-free. [3] He went 2 for 12 with 5 walks and a run in the 1999 European Championship, starting at second for the Swedes. [4]
