In his one game in the majors he gave up no runs in one inning pitched, but the 1929 St. Louis Browns played over .500 that year and Estrada, at 5 ' 8 " and 160 lbs., may have seemed a bit small. The other regular pitchers were all at least 5 ' 10 " and some were as tall as 6 ' 2 ".
He seems to have played in Cuba from roughly 1924-38.
As for the Negro Leagues, in the book The Negro Leagues Revisited, an interview with executive Dick Powell indicates that Estrada was with the Cuban Stars of Alex Pompez in 1924 but when he came to Baltimore "someone convinced him to get away from that group and sit tight and he'd be picked up later. He went back . . . (maybe) as far as '25".
