Biographical Information

Osamu Shimabukuro was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 5th round of the 1986 NPB draft, but he only got 2 at-bats for the top team before he announced his retirement in 1991. He played 11 games, being used mainly as a defensive sub at catcher. He coached the Orix BlueWave in 1992, and he was their minor league battery coach from 1993 to 1994.
