Norbert Jongerius has played in the Hoofdklasse.
Jongerius participated in the MLB European Academy in 2009. He was 2 for 15 with 3 walks and 5 runs as a corner outfielder for the Netherlands in the 2009 European Junior Championship. He hit .176/.224/.221 for UVV in the 2011 Hoofdklasse and improved to .277/.356/.323 in 2012. In 2013, he batted .250/.310/.317, followed by .260/.304/.315 in 2014. In 2015, the 24-year-old hit .198/.252/.229, stole 7 bases in 10 tries and fielded .978.
As he has a French mother and dual citizenship, he qualified to play for the French national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. After RF Jacques Boucheron was injured in the opener against Panama, he came in as the new left fielder, Douglas Rodriguez moving from LF to RF. He started the other two games in right with Boucheron still out. He went 1 for 9 with a steal and an error. His error came on a fly from Anthony Amaya in the opener. His hit came off Ricardo Hernández in a win over Spain.
