Biographical Information[edit]
Nobuo Karasaki signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1961, and he only got 4 at-bats combined in his first three seasons. He was 8-for-55 in 1965, and he went 0-for-1 in the 1965 Nippon Series; the Hawks lost to the Yomiuri Giants in 5 games. Karasaki then had a .200/.268/.231 batting line in 7e plate appearances over 88 games in 1966, and he appeared in 5 of 6 games in the 1966 Nippon Series, mainly as a pinch-runner or defensive replacement in the outfield. The Hawks lost to the Giants again in 6 games. He hit .227/.247/.280 in 1967, and he went 0-for-6 in 34 games in 1968. Karasaki recorded a .214/.267/.286 batting line in 40 games in 1969, but he only played 5 games in 1970 and he announced his retirement. He had 250 plate appearances in 308 games in his career, stealing 54 bases in 69 tries and having more runs (71) than hits (45).
