Biographical Information[edit]

Nobukatsu Matsui played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.

Matsui joined the Pacific club in 1946, and he hit .239/.319/.305 in 85 games that season. He forced Michio Shigematsu to use 19 pitches in one plate appearance and drew a walk, and that was the NPB record until Masaya Yano broke it in 2024. Matsui slumped to .196/.287/.240 in 1947, and he announced his retirement after hitting .106/.169/.136 in 1948.

Overall, Matsui hit .205/.289/.257 with 133 hits and a homer in 3 seasons in NPB.
