Biographical Information[edit]
Noboru Matsuba played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Matsuba signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1947, and he hit .252/.332/.320 in his first season. He played 72 games with a .217/.273/.239 batting line in 1948, and he collected 4 triples with a .264/.345/.342 batting line in 1949. Matsuba then improved to .280/.342/.417 in 1950, and he recorded a .233/.283/.291 batting line in 1951. He went to the Tokyu Flyers in 1952, and he batted .229/.296/.300 in 67 games then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Matsuba hit .251/.314/.319 with 264 hits and 5 homers in 6 seasons in NPB.
