Biographical Information

Pitcher Nico O'Donnell began his professional career in 2022. In 14 games (7 starts) for the Austin Weirdos, he went 1-4 with a 17.10 ERA. In 30 innings, he allowed 41 hits and 52 walks (3.100 WHIP), while striking out 34 batters. In 2023, he played for the Lancaster Sound Breakers (22 IP, 9.00 ERA) and Weirdos (5 2/3 IP, 14.29 ERA). In 2024, he had a 0.92 ERA in 21 relief appearances for the Garden City Wind, striking out 40 in 19 2/3 innings. He also played for the Joliet Slammers that year, allowing 6 earned runs in 2 innings of work. He returned to Garden City for 2025, posting an 11.57 ERA in 2 1/3 innings. He was also the initial manager of the Weirdos in 2023, being replaced by Derrick Dominguez partway through the year.
