New Orleans-St. Louis Stars
In 1940 the former St. Louis Stars moved to New Orleans, LA for some of their games to try to revive its struggling finances. The team played independently from the Negro Leagues that year but in 1941 played effectively in the Negro American League. They went 20-12, second to the Kansas City Monarchs. Managed by Hooks Mitchell, the team was led by Tom Parker (.727). After dissolving for a year, they returned in 1943 with another home as the Harrisburg-St. Louis Stars.
