Biographical Information[edit]
Nathan Diaby has pitched in the Hoofdklasse and for the Curaçao national team.
He was 4-1 with a save and a 4.55 ERA for the Hoofddorp Pioniers in the 2019 Hoofdklasse, at age 19. He tied Lars Huijer for the team lead in wins but his 11 wild pitches were one shy of league leader David Van Heyningen. He had a save and a 0.68 ERA in nine games in the COVID-19-shortened 2020 then was 0-3 with a save and a 5.40 ERA in 2021. In 2022, he went 0-1 with two saves and a 5.40 ERA. Moving to HCAW, he retired all six Arrows Ostrava batters he faced (three by strikeout) in a win over Marko Vykoukal at the 2023 European Champions Cup. [1] In the 2023 Hoofdklasse, he was 2-0 with a 3.26 ERA.
Diaby slipped to a 8.22 ERA in 2024 but had a save and a 3.60 ERA in 2025, striking out 27 in 25 IP. He was 5th in the league with 18 appearances, but did not take the hill in the 2025 Holland Series, which HCAW lost to Neptunus. With Curaçao in the 2025 Bolivarian Games, he made two appearances. He relieved Rubyorne Manuel in the 2nd with a 4-4 tie, two outs and the bases loaded against Ecuador. He threw a wild pitch to let in a run then struck out Ledy Alvarez. He struck out 3 in the 3rd but one of those batters reached on a wild pitch and two unearned runs would score that frame. In the 4th, his team tied it at 7 and he retired Johan León but Raiwinson Lameda singled and Alvarez tripled him in. Jeremiah Jones relieved and let in the inherited run and Diaby took the loss to Jeferson Hernández. He finished the Games with 3 hits, a walk and 5 runs (3 earned) in 2 1/3 IP, striking out 5. He led his team in Ks. [2]
