Nandy Serrano hit .387/~.441/.677 for the Puerto Rican national team that won the Silver Medal in the 1991 Pan American Games, with 7 runs and 7 RBI in 8 games.  In the 1992 Olympics, he hit .118/.111/.176 with two RBI in five games, while fielding .818 at third base, which he split with Gualberto López. He also had four error-free chances at 2B. He got both of his hits off Gold Medal winner Cuba and Jorge Luis Valdés.  He had a brief pro career in the California Angels chain, batting .195/.277/.244 in 13 games for the '92 Boise Hawks, driving in six. He fielded .958 at the hot corner.
Serrano then became a financial planner. He started a program aimed at helping professional athletes manage their money, given the large number who go broke due to poor planning.
