Biographical Information

Mitsuya Nakamura joined the Hiroshima Carp in 1964, and he debuted in 1967. He pitched 6 innings with a 1.50 ERA in that season, then he allowed 5 runs in 8 innings in 1968. Nakamura stayed in the minors until he announced his retirement after the 1973 season, and he became a coach. He was the minor league pitching coach for the Taiyo Whales from 1987 to 1989 and for the Seibu Lions from 1990 to 1992. He then went to Taiwan and served as pitching coach for the Jungo Bears in 1993.
