Biographical Information

Mitsuru Tamura signed with the Takahashi Unions in 1954, and he only pitched 2 games for the big club then announced his retirement. In his second and last game, Tamura walked 7 batters against the Nishitetsu Lions in the 8th inning, and he set the NPB record for walking the most batters in an inning.
