Biographical Information

Mitsuru Koganemaru was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the 2nd round of the 1969 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first season. He was 3-for-10 in 1971, but he only got 2 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. The Orions released him in 1973, and he signed with the Taiyo Whales. Koganemaru was 1-for7 in 1974, and he led the Eastern League in homers and RBI. He had a 1-for-16 record in 1975, and he was hitless in 9 at-bats in 1976. Koganemaru didn't reach the big club again, and he announced his retirement in 1977.
