Biographical Information[edit]
Mitsuo Okada was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the 2nd round of the 1967 NPB draft, and he was 9-9 with a 3.19 ERA in 1969. He pitched 17 games with a 2.08 ERA in 1970, but he missed most of the season due to elbow injury. Okada only got one appearance in 1971, and his ERA was 2.00 in 7 games in 1972. He led the Western League in wins in 1973, and he recorded a 4.50 ERA in 7 relief outings for the big club. Okada didn't return to the top team again, and he announced his retirement in 1978.
